A Monthly Journey into the Soul of Classical 5 Element Acupuncture Introduction; With Oriental Medicine in China continuing its aims of modernising thought and integration with the Western Medicine system, a need emerges for students of Chinese Medicine who want to understand the deeper spiritual concepts contained in Taoist and Classical Acupuncture to have a place for this learning. Classical 5 Element Acupuncture with its emphasis on spirit and emotional level disharmony supplies a deeper understanding of the healing arts for these students. Classical 5 Element Acupuncture is different in theory and practice from the modern TCM style of acupuncture currently being taught in Australia and China. The 5 Element style aims to treat at the levels of body, mind, heart and spirit; to address the causes of disease and bring healing to the person as a whole. It believes that each person has a constitutional element which is at the root of most disharmonies that present clinically. By treating and supporting this weaker element a change is engendered in the whole person, bringing them back in harmony with their lives, their body and the world as a whole. What are the Course Aims?; To give the TCM practitioner an understanding of the theories, practice and self reflection necessary to treat their patients at this deeper emotional and spiritual level. To give the student practitioner a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical skills that are part of Classical 5 Element acupuncture. To engender the confidence in the student practitioner to diagnose a person's constitutional element, plan treatments in a Classical 5 Element manner and support the patients in their own growth and healing. What will it include? As well as an over view of Classical 5 Element Acupuncture; we will look at classical diagnosis and rapport skills; the 5 elements and 5 spirits, Sheng and Ko cycles and seasons of the year. We will spend a lot of time understanding and using the Spirits of the Points and acquainting ourselves with the 12 officials; blocks to treatment; clinical skills and treatment planning. Each day we will have a chance to treat, putting these skills into use. Where, When and Cost? This course will be run over 6 monthly Sunday workshops. To register; a $300 (GST Inc) course deposit with $130 payable before each day you attend |
